Adopt orphan Witnesses when possible.
When an inscription or an ambiguous reference in the macrogenesis data 
refers to a witness that is not already used by the existing data, we 
can introduce an artificial 'adoption' edge to introduce the node into 
the graph without inducing any conflict.
